San Fernando Valley Young Democrats Join Valley-based Daily News and VICA PAC in Endorsing Greuel for Mayor
LOS ANGELES — Continuing her winning streak of back-to-back endorsements from key stakeholders in the San Fernando Valley, today Wendy Greuel received an endorsement from the San Fernando Valley Young Democrats (SFVYD), the premiere Democratic organization for young professionals in the San Fernando Valley.
Senator Alex Padilla and Congressmember Tony Cardenas, two of the founders of SFVYD, have also endorsed Greuel’s campaign for Mayor of Los Angeles.
“Wendy is a Valley mom, a Valley small business owner, a former Valley councilmember and a citywide Controller-based in the San Fernando Valley,” said Dina Cervantes, President of SFVYD. “Valley Democrats want a Mayor who not only understands the Valley—but who also has a proven record of delivering results for the Valley. That candidate is Wendy Greuel. She’s been an inspirational figure for so many young Democrats and we are pleased to announce our strong support of her campaign for Mayor.”
“As someone with deep roots in the San Fernando Valley, I am particularly proud to be supported by the San Fernando Valley Young Democrats,” said Greuel. “SFVYD is where passionate, talented young people get together to get involved in the politics of their communities and their world, and I am thrilled to have their support as we work to create jobs, improve public transportation, and make city government accountable.”
Greuel has seen a surge of momentum in recent weeks, earning coveted endorsements from the Los Angeles Police Protective League, the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City, the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA) PAC, the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Group and the Los Angeles Newspaper Group.
Greuel is supported by community and elected leaders and organizations across the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles, including U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, Congressmember Janice Hahn, Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina, Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez, Former Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg, Assemblymembers Felipe Fuentes, Bonnie Lowenthal, Raul Bocanegra, and Nancy Skinner, and civil rights icon Dolores Huerta. Greuel also leads the field support from working men and women, with endorsements from 18 labor organizations representing tens of thousands of workers.
