Endorsement from L.A. County Business Federation (Biz Fed) Bolsters Greuel's Mayoral Bid
LOS ANGELES, CA – Edging out her opponents in the race to win sought-after endorsements from Los Angeles' business community, today Wendy Greuel announced an endorsement from the Los Angeles County Business Federation (Biz Fed).
Biz Fed represents more than 100 business organizations with more than 185,000 businesses across the region, including more than 69,000 business owners within the City of Los Angeles.
Beyond today's endorsement, Greuel has recently won several pivotal endorsements, including the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Jobs PAC, the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA) PAC, and the Los Angeles News Group.
In addition to her recent surge in support from LA's business community, Greuel has also been endorsed by more than 20 labor organizations, which represent tens of thousands of working men and women. Greuel's wide-ranging support from both business and labor demonstrate her far-reaching and broad base of support from two key and hugely influential communities in Los Angeles.
"Wendy Greuel will make LA a global destination for businesses and entrepreneurs. She'll work to cut red tape and bureaucracy and eliminate the business tax. We're counting on her to make the tough decisions needed to balance the budget. Her experience as City Controller, a former studio executive, and her family owned business, means she gets it.," said Laura Olhasso, BizFed PAC Chair. "As a countywide alliance of business PACs, we believe Wendy will be the impactful regional leader for job creation, substantial transportation improvements, and the balanced environmental regulations we need. Wendy has our enthusiastic support for mayor."
“It is an honor to be endorsed by Biz Fed. I’ll be a mayor for all of Los Angeles, and I’ll fight to make LA a place where businesses can thrive,” Greuel said. “I’ll focus on adding jobs by investing in job training and improving our education system, and I’ll work to create a seamless, regional transportation system. And I’ll crack down on waste and abuse in government so we can get back to delivering the core services Angelenos expect and deserve. I’m excited to partner with Biz Fed to strengthen our economy and grow our middle class.”
Biz Fed’s endorsement adds to Greuel’s widening lead in endorsements from both business and labor organizations. She has also secured support from the Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014, Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS), the National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) of Los Angeles County, the Law Enforcement Association of Asian Pacifics (LEAAP), the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) and the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City (UFLAC) Local 112.
