AAGLA Adds to Greuel’s Broad Support in Race for Mayor
LOS ANGELES, CA – Signifying her growing and broad appeal among business and labor groups, today Wendy Greuel picked up the support of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA).
Widely recognized as one of Los Angeles’ most influential business groups, AAGLA’s weighty support provides the Greuel campaign with another boost of momentum.
In addition to today's show of support, Greuel has recently received a myriad of key business endorsements, including: the Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Association of REALTORS Local PAC, the Los Angeles County Federation of Business (Biz Fed), the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce's Jobs PAC, and the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA) PAC.
“We are proud to give Wendy Greuel our strong support,” said James Clarke, CEO of AAGLA. “As a savvy and knowledgeable business person, Wendy has a real pulse on LA’s economy. Her work in Mayor Bradley’s Administration, in President Clinton’s Administration at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as her small business experience has truly prepared her to lead Los Angeles as our next Mayor. Whether it’s dealing with the rental housing industry or building bridges between the business and labor communities, we are confident that Wendy will make Los Angeles the economic powerhouse that it should be.”
“I really appreciate this endorsement from the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles,” said Greuel. “This endorsement is a reflection of the dynamic alliance of support that my campaign has built across Los Angeles. As Mayor, I plan on working with them to ensure that residents throughout our City have an abundance of affordable housing options and that every Angeleno has a place they can call home.”
Yesterday, Greuel announced her Business Leaders with Wendy committee, made up of over 60 large and small business leaders from across Los Angeles. The list is available here.
Greuel has also been endorsed by more than 20 labor organizations, including the Los Angeles Police Protective League and the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City (UFLAC) Local 112.
And a broad group of community and elected leaders is backing her campaign. Greuel has received endorsements from U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, Congressmembers Janice Hahn and Tony Cardenas, Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez, and civil rights icons Dolores Huerta and John Mack. Greuel also has a tremendous grassroots following and has formed Women with Wendy, Valley Leaders with Wendy, African Americans with Wendy, Latinos with Wendy, Conservationists with Wendy, Armenians with Wendy, and Korean Americans with Wendy committee.
